The thing about CPS that you have to understand is that they are mostly de centralized, they are never held accountable unless you take them to court, they don't even have a formal complaint procedure for worker misconduct. Yet, they are the ones trusted to protect our children and take children from parents they claim are not being good parents. They can not actually take children on there own, but they would be the ones to request the courts to do so. This is a lot of power and assumed authority for them to not be held accountable as individual workers. That is a system designed to allow the abuse of power with no checks and balances to prevent it.

Ionia County CPS workers have been known to abuse this power in numerous ways. They are known to target specific people/ parents for harassment while allowing other parents to get away with putting the children at risk.

Known to be corrupt Ionia County CPS workers, based on recent history, include: Arianne Slaughter Ashley Gesselman

The thing with CPS, is that the only reason they exist with any sort of implicit authority is to protect children. When "CPS Workers" fail to protect children and abuse there authority in ways that put the child(ren) involved at more risk, they no longer function with any sort of implicit authority as the justification for having had that authority no longer exists. When these workers abuse there authority and put children in harms way, they need to be held accountable as people doing this. They should not be allowed to be protected under the guise of being employees for CPS, and given the benefit of the doubt they were doing what they thought was best for the child(ren) involved when it can be proven they were not. Instead they are granted partial to full immunity by the courts, with no checks and balances, and they do not even have a formal complaint procedure in place to deal with the inevitable and frequent abuse of authority by their workers.

When Ionia County CPS worker Arianne Slaughter was caught knowingly lying in Ionia County FOC court trying to take custody of my children from me, to my knowledge she was never even held accountable. No one apologized to me. Her supervisor confirmed she was aware she got caught and assured me she would be held accountable but refused to even tell me how. The supervisor did not apologize to me at all or act like she really cared. She acted more like I had no rights despite the fact my children and I were both victims of her employee and I almost lost custody of my 2 children because of a corrupt CPS worker that was compulsively lying including in court. I literally had to work with CPS workers from other counties at different times in order to verify and prove, including in court, that the Ionia County CPS workers were doing this.
